Mindy retired in 2023 after a 37-year career in insurance, including 32 years at The Doctors Company where she served as VP of Underwriting and National Insurance Operations.

Now certified as an End-of-Life Doula, she’s passionate about supporting others through life’s final stages. A lifelong learner, Mindy studied at Davenport University and earned multiple certifications from Michigan State, with a focus on critical thinking and customer experience. Her background in operations and her compassion make her role at Lavigne Home deeply fulfilling.

Steve is a lifelong Michigan resident. As an estate planning attorney, Steve has a tremendous amount of experience helping clients plan for their final chapters of life.

He also has a very personal connection to hospice care. His father, mother, and father-in-law passed with dignity and compassion under the care of hospice

Michelle is a master’s level Social Worker. She completed her undergraduate degree at Central Michigan University and master’s degree at Eastern Michigan University. She became involved in hospice in 2015. 

After working with a hospice agency, she quickly realized the need for a hospice placement within our community. The need has motivated Michelle’s involvement in this grassroots movement to address this need, which has led to the beautiful creation of the non-profit Hospice Homes of Genesee & Lapeer Counties.
